Job Description

The responsibilities of the R&D Engineer include, but are not limited to:

Collaborate with the team and customers to design and develop new products and processes, overseeing projects from concept to manufacturing release.Manage smaller development projects independently, addressing technical aspects for successful program commercialization.Implement design and process changes to enhance performance, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of existing products.Design and validate tools, gauges, and equipment for new initiatives.Lead experiments to address design queries and troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment.Create manufacturing documentation and implement LEAN and Six Sigma practices.Inspect tooling and customer parts for accuracy, developing CMM programs based on requirements.

The Successful Applicant

The successful R&D Engineer will possess these qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering field, preferably Mechanical Engineering 2-4 years of experience as an engineerAdvanced proficiency in 3D CAD softwareWorking knowledge of drawing standards, experience with GD&TPreferred familiarity with CMM programming software and interfaceDesirable experience with CNC machining and/or manual machining, though not mandatoryFamiliarity with plastic part fabrication techniques, emphasizing common forming and sealing methods; expertise in thermoforming is particularly valuableKnowledge of machine design, basic electrical design, and a solid understanding of common manufacturing practicesPreferably holds Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higherProficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., with an aptitude for learning new software
