I. Job Summary

The Manager Sustainability Impact supports WM's Sustainability initiatives and reporting – including supporting WM's progress towards 2030 Sustainability goals in Climate, Safety, Diversity, Circularity and Social Impact. This role reports directing to the Director, Sustainability Impact.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Establishes and maintains relationships with stakeholders across the company to explore opportunities to develop and execute plans for improving WM's Sustainability performance, from data collection to verification.

Supports the completion of WM's reporting efforts, including company reports, such as annual sustainability report and ESG frameworks, such as SASB, CDP, S&P Globals CSA, EcoVadis and other reports as identified. Assess for areas of improvements for continuous improvement in our reporting.

Prepares ongoing benchmarking research to ensure that WM's maintains its leadership role in sustainability.

Prepares presentations and economic business justification studies related to the opportunities to improve WM's ESG performance.

Prepares presentations, studies/reports and white papers on ESG topics for use by internal and external stakeholders to communicate specific topics, projects and programs.

Develops expertise in topics as assigned to become the sustainability SME in multiple technical areas, providing support to internal stakeholders upon request.

Develops and maintain internal data management and digital enablement tools that support the companies voluntary and regulatory requirements related to sustainability reporting.

Establishes and maintains subject matter expertise relevant to WM operations and sustainability goals, especially in areas of related to 2030 Sustainability goals and growth in sustainability services.

III. Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

Education: Bachelor's degree (accredited) in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Data Science, or related field OR High School diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant experience required.

Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

None required.

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

Project Management / Strategy / Budget management

Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI and other computer software expertise expected to complete requirements of role

Knowledge of how a greenhouse gas inventory is developed and verified, and understanding of scopes 1, 2, 3 and supply chain emissions.

Knowledge in Sustainability disclosure standards (i.e. SEC, SASB, TCFD) and ESG Rating agencies format and data verification process a plus.

Experience in the environmental or waste industry, including reporting on business and financial metrics a plus.

Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) training a plus.

Greenhouse Gas Protocol training a plus.

IV. Work Environment

Office: This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc.

The expected salary range for this position is $88K - $112K. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be
