Danbury Hospital, part of Nuvance Health, formerly Western Connecticut Health Network, is seeking a full-time physician to join our growing Metabolic & Medical Weight Management Program in our Newtown, Connecticut office located about one hour outside of New York City in suburban Fairfield County. This growing program includes our Medical Director, staff physicians, advanced practitioners, as well as dieticians and behavioral health specialists at both our Newtown and Wilton office locations, centrally located within Fairfield County. Our program provides comprehensive evaluations and management of obesity as a chronic disease with a focus on health and wellness. We see both non-surgical and surgical candidates pre- and post-operatively.

Candidates must be board certified/eligible in Endocrinology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and/or Obesity Medicine, or another related specialty and have experience/ expertise in the field of obesity medicine. This includes competency in the genetic, biologic environmental, social, and behavioral factors that contribute to obesity and a thorough understanding of the treatment of obesity and related metabolic conditions. The schedule follows standard Monday-Friday office hours with participation in light after hours call rotation. This position is hybrid with both in person and telemedicine visits scheduled. We offer a highly competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits package, including sign on bonus, relocation and allowances for CMEs and Dues expenses.

We are nearby to Danbury Hospital, one of our 7 Nuvance Health hospitals. Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents convenient access to exceptional care. As a teaching hospital, we are affiliated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Our larger employed Medical Group includes 1,000+ physicians and advanced practitioners.

Fairfield County is located in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and on the border of New York State, about 60 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CT. This beautiful suburban location boasts numerous quaint towns, excellent housing and highly rated public and private school systems. Not far from the greater NY metropolitan area, the region enjoys both proximity to New York City culture and access to a wide array of four-season recreational activities. Boston, New York City, New Haven, and Hartford are easily accessible via train and car.
