Role Summary: As a Bar back/Food Runner at the Owl Bar, you will play a crucial role in supporting our bartenders and servers ensuring smooth operations in the bar area. Your attention to detail and dedication to teamwork will contribute to the overall success of our establishment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist bartenders in preparing and serving beverages, including stocking and replenishing supplies.
  • Deliver food orders from the kitchen to bar patrons in a timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including clearing tables and disposing of trash.
  • Change kegs, restock beer, wine, and liquor.
  • Collaborate with bartenders and servers to fulfill guest requests and provide exceptional service.
  • Greet guests warmly and provide recommendations on drinks and menu items.
  • Learn about our menu offerings and share knowledge with guests.
  • Enter orders accurately into the point of sale system and process payments.
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and hygienic work environment.
  • Verify the accuracy of food orders before delivering them to customers.
  • Carry multiple plates or dishes from the kitchen to the dining area without spills or accidents.
  • Ensure food presentation meets our restaurant's standards before serving it to guests.
  • Interact with guests, answer questions, and fulfill additional requests as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining area.
  • Handle customer complaints or issues quickly and professionally.
  • Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables rapidly and accurately
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the menu
  • Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff
  • Communicate food orders to chefs/expos, paying attention to priorities and special requests
  • Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g., proper temperature)
  • Assist the wait staff with table setting and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins
  • Uphold our food health code safety and sanitation principles
  • Communicate any food allergies or special dietary requirements to the kitchen staff.
  • Assist waitstaff with refilling drinks, clearing plates, and resetting tables.
  • Learn the menu to answer questions about ingredients and preparation methods.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a bar or restaurant environment preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and stand for extended periods. This is a physically demanding job.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
