Duties

  • Assess patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities to determine their occupational therapy needs
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to help patients improve their functional abilities
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to address deficits in activities of daily living, mobility, and fine motor skills
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes
  • Educate patients and their families on adaptive techniques and equipment to enhance independence and safety
  • Document patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory requirements
Skills

  • Acute care: Ability to provide occupational therapy services in acute care settings, such as emergency departments or intensive care units.
  • Occupational health: Knowledge of occupational health principles and practices, including ergonomics and workplace injury prevention.
  • Critical care: Ability to provide specialized occupational therapy interventions for critically ill patients.
  • Physiology knowledge: Understanding of human anatomy and physiology as it relates to occupational therapy interventions.
  • Patient service: Strong focus on providing excellent patientcentered care and ensuring patient satisfaction.
