Outpatient Diabetes Educator/Dietitian

The Diabetes Educator/Dietitian provides clinical nutrition assessments, recommendations, and education to outpatients, and provides group and individual self-management diabetes education, functioning at a diabetes educator competency level 1 to a level 2, working towards level 3. This position may be required to travel to other facilities.

Work Schedule: 0.8 FTE. Weekdays with set schedule.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Dietetics.
  • Must be Registered Dietitian through Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) upon start.
  • Must be licensed as a Certified Dietitian through WI Department of Safety & Professional Services (If WI certification is not present at hire, must obtain within 4 months of start.)
  • Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist (CDCES) through Certification Board for Diabetes Care & Education (CBDCE). If do not have upon start date, required to obtain CDCES once required diabetes education experience hours are obtained.
  • Current BLS - American Heart Association or BLS - American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider).
  • Experience with demonstrated skills in all phases of Diet Therapy and Diabetics self-management education.
  • Able to work in Stillwater, MN and Western WI locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years post education experience working with diabetes patients.
