Who we're looking for

Toyota's Connected Technologies Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Software Systems Engineer on our Operations team

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead day- to-day operations of Connected Technology systems & services.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the person in this role will support the Connected Technology department's objective to transform operations to maximizing our Customer Service Experience.

What you'll be doing

Troubleshoot and resolve customer reported issues.Provide support and direction to core Issue & Incident Management team.Participate in the design and architecture of systems, ensuring they meet the operational and performance requirements.Collaborate with development teams to ensure that applications are designed with operational considerations in mind.Respond to alerts and incidents, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system reliability.Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline operational tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce manual intervention.Participate in incident response activities, including investigating and resolving system-related issues.Propose and implement improvements to enhance system efficiency, reliability, and security.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide effective solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, present findings, and provide guidance during incidents.
What you bring

Previous Technical Operations Engineering, DevOps or Programming position; or similar role supporting complex systems. Bachelors in CS, BA, or MIS preferred.Technical proficiency with scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, and/or Go.Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols.Experience with automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).Expertise in using monitoring and logging tools for system analysis and troubleshooting.
Added bonus if you have

Relevant certifications in areas such as cloud computing (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer), containerization (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator), or other relevant certifications can be beneficial.Understanding of security best practices and the ability to implement and maintain security measures within the infrastructure.Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices, emphasizing collaboration between development and operations teams.
