Position Summary

The Systems Integration Engineer acts as the primary technical liaison for clients, engaging directly with them to ensure seamless integration of systems. This role involves close collaboration with the Program Manager to oversee daily operations, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and technical specifications. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set in hardware and software integration, systems engineering, and testing, complemented by strong organizational and communication skills to effectively engage with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main technical point of contact for clients, operating with a degree of autonomy in a client-focused environment.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to drive daily project execution while maintaining budgetary and scheduling constraints.
  • Provide technical insights and recommendations to senior leadership and the Program Manager.
  • Conduct briefings for clients during technical meetings and events.
  • Engage in broader engineering processes and uphold technical standards.

Integration Support

  • Perform expert analysis and provide recommendations on the integration of software and architecture to enhance design and artifact generation.
  • Conduct engineering assessments to support future platform implementations with open architectures and establish a consistent integration process.
  • Act as a key contributor in Integrated Product Teams to anticipate and prepare for future platform developments.
  • Document integration methodologies and tools to support future sensor mission systems and aircraft.
  • Generate essential client deliverables, including integration and testing plans, procedures, and reports.
  • At the architectural level, offer expert analysis on compliance and interoperability with existing and future Government Reference Architectures.

Platform Integration

  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams, providing Subject Matter Expertise to expedite software implementations on current and developing unmanned aerial systems.

Experimental Support

  • Engage in the on-site integration of software and hardware components to achieve operational systems in Software/Hardware Integration Labs and testing environments.
  • Collaborate with the Test and Evaluation team to provide expert analysis and input for test documentation.
  • Support the documentation of processes and tools to inform future program integrations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related STEM field (equivalent experience may be considered).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in defense or Department of Defense environments.
  • Experience in integrating hardware and software systems in both laboratory and field settings.
  • Practical knowledge of Kubernetes, Red Hat Linux, and DevSecOps methodologies.
  • Understanding of integration methods and tools for sensor mission systems and aircraft.
  • Proficient in relevant software tools for requirement analysis, CI/CD pipelines, Agile management, and testing.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control processes.
  • Knowledge of Open Architecture Standards and modeling methodologies.
  • Familiarity with hardware and software interfaces and network configurations.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
