ABOUT THE ROLE
The Terminal Operator safely operates all equipment at the location used to load and unload rail cars, boats and/or trucks, ensuring order accuracy and expeditious processing of requests.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Terminal operators need the ability to communicate with Terminal Managers, customers, sales personnel, trucking firms, and suppliers.
- Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse, yard, etc.
- Carry out tasks related to loading/unloading material, both bulk and bagged, waterway, and road methods of transportation, as appropriate for the specific location.
- Assist with blending operations to meet demand and ensure accuracy of blended material through established guidelines.
- Collect samples as required.
- Maintain cleanliness of loading bays, rail unloading area, and dispatch office.
- Operate and conduct general maintenance on mobile equipment and assist with general mechanic maintenance.
- Maintain accurate inventory on all products within SAP through process orders and inventory adjustments.
- Assist in managing all receipts in RailConnect Services releasing all cars in a timely manner once unloaded.
- Assist in generating and maintaining required daily and monthly reports on all shipments.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent or 1-3 years of equivalent experience.
Required Work Experience: 1-3 years
Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic Knowledge about computers, Microsoft programs, and SAP preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- High Mechanical aptitude and ability. Knowledge of office equipment. Pleasant and positive attitude working with co-workers, customers, and the public. Physical ability to work at heights, confined-enclosed areas, and perform unloading functions.
- Must be able to complete paperwork
- Candidates with a mechanical background and welding experience are desirable
- Autonomous, meticulous, good judgment
- Courteous with customers
- Knows and applies safe working practices
- Attestation on any kind of training an asset
- Knowledge of cement, the construction industry and integrated computer systems an asset
- Good communication skills
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety andcenvironmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibitcthese behaviors.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approvedcPersonal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicableclaw, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
