Salem, Oregon, United States Salem Audiology Clinic Full time
This position is for a 4th year externship at Salem Audiology Clinic. We have a private practice which focuses on diagnostics and treatment via amplification.

The practice is very active, with approximately 15 diagnostic evaluations per day, six fittings and dozens of follow-up and service appointments.

We currently employee a staff of six full-time audiologists with support by three audiology assistants and various clerical staff. Approximately 25% of patients are pediatric, 75% adult. We have an ABR program, focused on newborn early intervention. We are
not currently doing vestibular work.

Externs will receive exposure to all aspects of private practice audiology and not just clinical work.

This includes records management, marketing, clerical review, and patient education to give the extern a well-rounded experience should they ever plan to enter private practice themselves.

Externs will be expected to be able to work a minimum of 35 hours per week. They should be able to conduct diagnostic evaluations by the time they start at Salem Audiology Clinic.

They will received direct supervision of hands-on work until competency has been determined and, for insurance billing reasons, always be directly supervised for diagnostic work.
