Piedmont ENT Associates in Winston-Salem, NC is accepting applications for a 4 th Year Audiology Extern position with our practice for

PENTA is a private ENT practice with twelve physicians, four PAs, nine audiologists, one hearing instrument specialist and four satellite locations.

We provide a wide range of audiological services and can offer a 4th year extern a diverse clinical experience. The primary site for our externs is the Winston-Salem office. Our services include adult/pediatric hearing evaluations, OAE, sedated ABR, vestibular testing/treatment, adult/pediatric hearing aid evaluation/fitting/verification, Baha, and cochlear implants. A stipend is available for this position.

Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:

  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with patients, physicians and coworkers
  • Ability to complete comprehensive audiogram on adults independently
  • Experience with hearing aid consultation and fitting/programming Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
  • Proficiency in adult/pediatric hearing evaluations
  • Proficiency in hearing aid evaluation, fitting & verification
  • Skills in vestibular testing/treatment
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with patients, physicians and coworkers
  • Experience in cochlear implant evaluation and programming Clinical opportunities that will be given to the extern:
