The project:

This is an opportunity to work with Mace North America on a multi-billion-dollar transportation development in Austin, Texas. This expansive program aims to revolutionize transit throughout the Austin area with the development of new light rail systems and enhanced services across the city. The rail initiative is more than just a transit plan; it's a community effort designed to create thousands of local jobs and provide greater access to healthcare, education, employment, and essential services, fostering equity and driving economic growth. With a shared passion for environmental conservation, the project is dedicated to sustainable practices, aiming to be carbon neutral by 2040, with zero-emission transit buses by 2035, positioning Austin as a leader in environmental stewardship. Embracing the spirit of innovation, the rail initiative will integrate cutting-edge technology to make transportation smarter, more efficient, and user-friendly, enhancing the quality of life by making transit more enjoyable and accessible.

You will lead the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.
You will be the relationship owner and primary contact for Mace executive team engagement, and responsible for ensuring efficient governance to achieve our strategic priorities.
You will be responsible for key client relationship management, and converting the client's vision into a deliverable onsite plan.

You'll be responsible for:

Operational Excellence

Process Efficiency: Achieving and maintaining high efficiency in PMO processes, ensuring streamlined project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing phases.
Budget Adherence: Ensuring all projects are delivered within the allocated budget, implementing effective cost control measures and financial oversight.
Timeline Management: Guaranteeing projects are completed on or ahead of schedule by maintaining robust scheduling practices and proactive risk management.
Quality Assurance: Upholding the highest standards of quality in project deliverables, ensuring all outputs meet or exceed client and regulatory requirements.

Client Satisfaction

Stakeholder Engagement: Fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders through regular communication, transparency, and responsiveness to their needs and concerns.
Service Excellence: Providing exceptional PMO services that consistently meet or exceed client expectations, resulting in high levels of client satisfaction.
Feedback Integration: Actively seeking and incorporating client feedback to continuously improve PMO services and address any areas of concern promptly.

Standards Compliance

ISO Standards Adherence: Ensuring all PMO activities are fully compliant with international ISO standards for project management, maintaining rigorous documentation and audit trails.
Best Practices Implementation: Continuously integrating industry best practices into PMO processes, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of project management excellence.
Regulatory Compliance: Guaranteeing that all projects comply with relevant regulatory requirements, minimizing legal and compliance risks.

Digital Transformation: Supervising the adoption and integration of digital tools and technologies to enhance PMO capabilities, improve data accuracy, and streamline project workflows.
Continuous Improvement: Fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the PMO, encouraging innovation and the implementation of new ideas and methodologies.
Technology Utilization: Leveraging advanced project management software and analytics to drive decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and improve project outcomes.
Training and Development: Investing in the ongoing training and development of the PMO team, ensuring they are equipped with the latest skills and knowledge to drive innovation and excellence.

You'll need to have:

Extensive experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programs in the rail sector.
Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.
Strong commercial and financial acumen.
Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.

You'll also have:

Experience working in the rail infrastructure sector.
Experience in a director level position.
Industry qualification or chartership e.g. PgMP, PMI, CMI, DBIA.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or applicable field.
