San Francisco, California, United States ZBiotics Full time

The opportunity

At ZBiotics, we make genetically engineered probiotics that improve daily life. As a group of motivated, yet down-to-earth people, we are fueled by two things: a love for science and a commitment to being people-first. GMO products like ours, built to create benefits for people in their daily lives are the future. As the first to market, we believe it's our duty to set a high bar for product quality, safety, and transparency for others to follow.

In 2019, we launched the world's first genetically engineered probiotic: a 15mL probiotic drink designed to break down an alcohol byproduct that leads to rough mornings after drinking. Since then, ZBiotics' business has continued to grow rapidly year over year.

We are preparing to launch our second product, a genetically engineered probiotic with a new function related to microbiome health.

Your impact

As Graphic Designer, you will work closely with ZBiotics' Marketing Creative Lead to visualize a category-defining brand. You will have the unique challenge of making a product steeped in science and innovative technology accessible to a consumer audience using visual language. This is a hands-on design role that will collaborate with external creators and a tight-knit internal marketing team with a wide variety of creative needs. Your work will be essential to our growth as a business and a standout brand as your creative will guide every step of the customer journey.

And if that weren't all, your work will also redefine how American consumers see genetic engineering and GMOs.

About the role

You will report to ZBiotics' Marketing Creative Lead as their first full time hire to execute on the day to day creative needs of the marketing team with a focus on digital ads, email design, landing pages, branding work, and social media needs. Depending on your skills and interest, the scope of this role may also include print, packaging, video, and animation projects as needed.

  • By your third month, you are fully onboarded, clearly understand the brand and can achieve successful design with limited revisions.
  • By your sixth month, you have owned all iterative creative assets, have become a cross functional design partner, you are the go-to for asset production, and know the ins & outs to our asset library.
  • By your first year, have built a robust template library/system, own our brand style guide, and key creative asset to our agency partners.

Experience must-haves

If your experience doesn't align perfectly but you are a dedicated, quick learner, please apply

  • You can contribute quality, hands-on graphic design on day one.
  • Your portfolio demonstrates strong technical expertise, overview of 'the problem' and explanation towards your design solutions, design versatility & execution, and design sense.

  • You are very organized, an excellent communicator, and manage your own time efficiently.
  • You are proficient in Adobe suite and Figma.
  • You have experience doing both brand work and performance-focused ad work.
  • Experience working within a DAM platform and familiar with updating style guides.
