We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Wayfinding Designer to join our team at the Society for Experiential Graphic Design. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the development of innovative wayfinding solutions that enhance the user experience in complex environments.
Key Responsibilities- Lead day-to-day communications with clients, stakeholders, and partners to ensure seamless project execution.
- Develop and visualize wayfinding design concepts, including systems architecture and design, to meet client needs and expectations.
- Conduct information planning, including naming, content, and messaging, location and network planning, and location and placement.
- Design and develop information design solutions and graphic set-outs, including cartographic elements, maps, diagrams, and pictograms.
- Conduct user testing and prototyping to ensure effective wayfinding solutions.
- Create high-quality artworks for physical, print, and digital products ready for production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, and fabricators, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Present work to internal teams, project collaborators, and client teams to ensure alignment and buy-in.
- Support the effective management of projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and deadline management.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships to ensure ongoing business growth and success.
- 5+ years of experience in wayfinding design, with a strong portfolio of work.
- Strong understanding of wayfinding principles, including systems thinking and user-centered design.
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to lead and mentor team members.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and InDesign.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of GIS and/or interface design software is a plus.
- A competitive salary range of $100-$135k, tailored to experience.
