General Function

Processing mail, Western Union orders, utility bills, cashing checks, selling money orders, collecting dry cleaning orders for customers.

Maintaining a positive company image through courteous and efficient customer service.

Accountable and Reports to:

District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness

Positions that Report to you: None

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing friendly and efficient customer service
  • Assisting customers with various tasks
  • Handling postal packages and Western Union orders
  • Selling money orders and cashing checks
  • Assisting with customer requests and suggestions
  • Answering the telephone and providing helpful service
  • Working as a team with co-workers

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with lottery machines and lottery tickets
  • Supporting customers with dry cleaning services
  • Helping at the registers when needed
  • Processing bottle refunds and other tasks as required

Requirements:

  • High school or equivalent experience
  • 6 months to 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Ability to solve practical problems and perform basic arithmetic calculations

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform medium physical work
  • Visual acuity for various tasks
  • Physical activities including stooping, reaching, lifting, and standing

Working Conditions:

Fast-paced environment with exposure to noise and dirt

Equipment Used: Fax, telephone, postal equipment, lottery machines, computer, cash register

Contact: Daily contact with customers, weekly with suppliers/vendors, monthly with regulatory agencies.
