ESPN Chicago Marketing Consultant (Account Executive)

ESPN 1000 is seeking an experienced marketer who enjoys selling to join our team to help drive revenue and create customized, long-term solutions for potential advertising partners. Chicago, one of the largest, most talked about sports cities in the country, is frequently on the national stage, bringing local and national content daily. ESPN Chicago is one of Good Karma Brands' (GKB) top 3 largest markets, and now we are looking for an experienced and passionate Marketing Consultant (Account Executive) to continue to lead us into the future.

The Role of a Marketing Consultant (Account Executive)

The primary role of the Marketing Consultant (Account Executive) is to develop long-term relationships with area businesses and agency partners by creating and selling successful, customized marketing solutions to local companies utilizing the ESPN 1000 brand. Account Executives are hungry to learn and gritty and are responsible for account development, including prospecting new business and account retention. This will require a strategic marketing mind with a thorough knowledge of the market and ESPN Chicago's audio and event assets as the solutions/services including ESPN 1000 and signature events.

Daily Tasks of a Marketing Consultant (Account Executive)

  • Identify, uncover, and develop account opportunities
  • Develop long lasting relationships with area businesses and decision makers to help them reach their goals
  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of the complete portfolio of ESPN Chicago's assets and create successful, customized marketing solutions including social media, digital marketing, audio and events
  • Continually educate yourself on media and new trends in the industry we serve as well as our advertising partners
  • Network with local businesses to expand your sphere of influence in the market by being a marketing resource for them and their businesses
  • Ability to uncover marketing objectives and create solutions to solve those objectives
  • Ability to sell at all levels including C-Level positions
  • Other assigned tasks

Preferred knowledge, skills, and qualifications

  • 3+ years of recent and continuous media sales experience and a passion for sales and service
  • Strong network and relationships within the Chicago community
  • Goal oriented and creative self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Personal sense of responsibility and accountability
  • Passion to be a part of a team and the ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment - a multi-tasker
  • Willingness to accept and provide feedback
  • Familiarity in CRM tool such as Salesforce and Microsoft Office; Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • With this career, you are required to hold a valid driver's license

Hours/Salary/Benefits

This is an exempt role with a competitive base salary. This role is eligible for full benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, Life Insurance, STD, LTD, 401(k) Plan, Dependent Care, paid parental leave, and more with opportunities for salary growth increase with skills and responsibilities and meeting targeted goals. The position will be required to work some evenings and weekends.
