Title:
Patient Financial Counselor

Duration: 3+ Months (temp to hire)

Shift: 1st M to F

Pay Range: $22.00/hr. to $24.00/hr.

Location:
Olathe, KS 66061

Duties:

  • Contacts insurance companies and/or patients regarding past due bills as identified by the monthly past due ques (insurance and self pay).
  • Works at risk insurance que and sends past due accounts to collections as needed with appropriate calls.
  • Reviews encounters before recommending adjustments, refunds, bad debt/collections, or financial assistance.
  • Follows up with Insurance Financial Counselors when needed to resolve the encounter.
  • Follows departmental procedures and guidelines to ensure the prompt and accurate resolution for accounts in keeping with our commitment to Compliance.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with office equipment, computer programs, and web sites necessary to perform duties (e.g. Cerner,Outlook, Medicare, Medicaid, Word, Excel, other insurance and work related web sites).
  • Initializes documentation of patient complaints/concerns/inquiries.
