Our client, a highly successfully and continuously growing food manufacturer, is currently seeking a Manager Tax and Reporting Compliance.

Position based in VA (in office role) so must be local candidate or one who can relocate to the Northern VA area.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure tax compliance within Federal, State, Local and Foreign jurisdictions. Work with Management in formulating tax strategies
  • Optimize Company profitability and cash flow
  • Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Preparation of tax returns for Federal, State and Local including US international forms and required elections and disclosures
  • Preparation of quarterly global income tax provision under IFRS
  • Filing of sales & use and property tax returns
  • Support financial statement audit process including tax disclosures
  • Responsible for worldwide transfer pricing documentation as well as preparation of intercompany entries on a quarterly basis
  • Evaluate potential impact of new tax legislation and recommend proper course of action
  • Manage IRS and state audits, including providing support and documentation
  • Assess income tax implications of transactions, restructuring, and other changes in business operations
  • Support M&A projects, including tax due diligence and post-acquisition integration
  • Work directly with and manage external tax service providers and auditors
  • Manage special projects, including R&D tax credit and transfer pricing studies
  • Ensure internal controls regarding tax are followed and documented in accordance with SOX requirements
  • Filing of annual reports with Secretary of State
  • Preparation of estimated tax payments and extension filings
  • Preparation of tax forecasts
  • Provide timely assistance and support to other departments or operations on tax related matters and their potential impact
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPENTENCIES-• Bachelor's degree or higher, CPA required, Masters in Taxation preferred

  • 7+ years of tax experience in Big 4 public accounting and/or industry
  • Big - public accounting experience with preparation and filing U.S. consolidated income tax returns for large multi-national corporations
  • In-depth understanding of international taxation, including Form 5471, Subpart F, GILTI, FDII and foreign tax credit
  • Strong global tax provision skills and experience in financial reporting
  • Well-rounded expertise in U.S. tax issues and tax planning; experience with international tax planning and strategy
  • Less than 10% travel required
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail with good organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency with Excel and One Source; experience with SAP preferred Immediate Supervisor (title): CFO
  • Complicated international taxation (8 Form 5471s, GILTI, FDII, Subpart F and Foreign Tax Credit)
