The Legislative Liaison Director directs and implements Wind Creek Hospitality's internal/external communication for legislative functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs department personnel; Manages PTO requests, conducts coaching and disciplinary actions when necessary and prepares evaluationsAttend local and state meetings (House, Senate, Commission, and Council) that could impact WCH gaming operations and report regularly or as requested about legislation and legislative issues.
Act as a resource for local discussions of legislation and contemplated legislation.
Identify legislative issues of particular local concern and convey those to WCH.
Communicate opportunities and, at times, the urgent need for WCH participation in legislative activities.
Collaborate with local and state politicians to create or improve relationships to help WCH achieve its legislative goals.
Work with local organizations and advocacy groups to improve relationships that help WCH achieve legislative goals.
Serve as a conduit between WCH and politicians or other key persons in areas where WCH operates or intends to operate.
Attend events and meetings, participate in panels, or make presentations as appropriate.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Wind Creek Hospitality is looking for applicants possessing the following characteristics: Analytical: Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Uses intuition and experience to complement data
Creative: Excellent verbal skills, including public speaking and the ability to address the media. The Legislative Liaison Director will articulate the companies' position as appropriate in both private and public settings and Demonstrate excellent journalistic writing skills.

Job Requirements: (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying) High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within 6 months from start date as a condition of continued employment
Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
Bachelor's Degree in Related Field AND three (3) years' experience in a Management position– requiredOR Seven (7) years' experience in a Management position– required
OR Five (5) years' experience in a Management position with Wind Creek Hospitality– required
Six (6) years' experience in a public/governmental relations role–required
Six (6) years' experience in a role or roles that required public speaking and interaction– required
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Must be a team player and possess the ability to work calmly in difficult, high-pressure and high-stress situations with multiple deadlines
Must be self-motivated, willing to travel to events and professionally represent Wind Creek Hospitality and the Poarch Band of Creek Indians
Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
Must have a valid and current State Driver's License and an insurable driving record for purposes of driving company vehicles as required
Must have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position
Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment
