About the Role:
Gen3 seeks two talented Senior Full Stack Java Engineers to play a key role in supporting the development and maintenance of software applications for the Maryland Judiciary. This position will be responsible for all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to coding, testing, and deployment.
Location: Remote, US.
What You'll Do:

  • Analyze and define user requirements for new software applications.
  • Design, develop, and implement software applications using a variety of programming languages and technologies, including Java (Spring Boot), JavaScript (React/Angular) and RabbitMQ/ Kafka for messaging.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Conduct unit testing and integration testing to ensure the quality of the software.
  • Deploy software applications to production environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues.
  • Provide technical support to users.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest software development trends and technologies.
  • Implement and integrate CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery and deployment.

Design and Development:

  • Work on microservices architecture for scalability and maintainability using Spring Boot.
  • Create responsive user interfaces using React and or Angular.
  • Apply event-driven design principles to build scalable and resilient applications.

Message Brokers:

  • Work with RabbitMQ for message queuing and event streaming.
  • If experience is in Kafka, understand the architectural differences between RabbitMQ and Kafka.

Deployment and Infrastructure:

  • Deploy microservices to Kubernetes clusters, utilizing CI/CD pipeline.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production systems.
  • Optimize application performance and scalability.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 10 years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in event-driven design principles.
  • Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of the use of design patterns
  • Spring JPA experience is required.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • Front-end experience utilizing React and/or Angular.
  • Experience with either RabbitMQ or Kafka for message queuing.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

What's Desired to Have:

  • Previous experience supporting federal or state agencies, especially the Maryland Judiciary, is highly desired
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices.
  • Elastic search experience is a plus.
