Position Specific Description

Join the world's leading generator of wind energy as a Wind Field Service Technician at NextEra Energy. As a Wind Field Service Technician, you will be the critical front line to ensure the safe and optimal performance of all wind farm operations. You will primarily focus on the safe execution of field-based equipment maintenance, diagnostics, as well as long-term reliability and profitability. This role will be based at Carousel Wind near Burlington, CO, and will require 100% traveling within the area supporting multiple wind sites. Additional duties may include:

Implementing Operation Safety Policy Instructions, conducting fieldwork in compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) applicable regulations, encourage good employee safety practices, and drive an unparalleled employee safety cultureParticipating in Business Lean Six Sigma processes and projectsRecruiting and developing other technicians for the ongoing development of the teamSupporting site manager for all phases of timely safety and environmental reporting, financial reporting, and turbine availabilityCollaborating closely with internal NextEra users to develop and implement operation-focused feedback and solutions for planned and unplanned maintenance, improvement projects, development, and financial performancePresenting a positive professional representation of NextEra Energy in the community and with the customer

Job Overview

Employees in this entry-level role perform maintenance and repair activities on wind turbine generators. Individuals conduct precision measurement, generator alignment, bearing replacement, and torque checks.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Under direct supervision:
Travels extensively with little or no notice within the entire company fleetPerforms maintenance and repair on wind turbine power generation equipmentPerforms electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshootingMaintains all company supplied equipment, facilities, and toolingCompletes Safety Mentor training curriculum with 6 months of initial hireCompletes Wind Field Service Technician III training curriculum within first yearAbility to meet attendance requirementsPerforms other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Grad / GEDExperience: 1+ years in a technical field, OR completion of a technical certificate/degree programValid Driver's License (NON CDL)Ability to climb a wind turbine up to 300 feetPost-Offer Functional Capacity Eval

The base pay for this position is $43,200.00 to $64,800.00 per year. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
