Stone Ridge is looking for a full-time Upper School Social History Teacher to join their team in August 2024.

Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, part of the international Network of Sacred Heart Schools, is a Catholic, independent college preparatory school in Bethesda, Maryland. They cater to girls from Grades 1-12, along with an Early Childhood Program that is co-educational. The Upper School History Teacher role involves:

  • Strong knowledge of World History, emphasizing a wide range of voices and perspectives.
  • Teaching World History from circa 1000 to present day over a two-year curriculum.
  • Collaborating with colleagues in the History & Social Sciences Department and across the Upper School.
  • Contributing to curriculum planning and updates.
  • Working with various support staff to enhance student learning strategies.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A successful teaching background and the ability to work with diverse learning abilities.
  • Proficient writing and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with current research and writing instruction techniques.
  • A passion for innovation and collaboration.
  • Strong organizational skills, creativity, and flexibility.
