We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered School Nurse (RN) to provide 1:1 care for a student with specific medical needs in a New Hampshire school. The ideal candidate will have experience managing seizure disorders and tube feeding. This role requires someone who is not only skilled in medical care but also committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for the student.

Primary Duties:

  • Provide direct 1:1 medical care and support to a student with a seizure disorder.
  • Administer tube feedings as required, ensuring proper nutritional support.
  • Monitor the student's health status, recognizing and responding to medical emergencies, particularly seizures.
  • Develop and implement individualized health care plans (IHPs) in collaboration with parents, teachers, and healthcare providers.
  • Educate and train school staff on recognizing and responding to seizure activity and tube feeding procedures.
  • Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with school policies and state regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with the student's family, school staff, and healthcare providers to coordinate care and support.
  • Participate in school health programs, promoting overall health and wellness within the school community.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) License: Must hold a current, valid RN license in the state of New Hampshire.
  • Experience with Seizure Disorders: Proven experience in managing and responding to seizure disorders in a clinical or school setting.
  • Tube Feeding Expertise: Demonstrated ability to administer and manage tube feedings.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Compassion and Patience: A high level of empathy and patience, especially when working with students with special medical needs.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in maintaining accurate health records and ensuring all medical protocols are followed.

Required Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) License: Current, valid RN license in New Hampshire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification: Must have current BLS certification.
  • Seizure Management Training: Certification or documented training in seizure management.
  • Feeding Tube Management Training: Certification or documented training in feeding tube management.
