The Role of a Mammography Technologist at Hackensack Meridian Health
- Perform diagnostic and screening mammographic examinations on patients of different age groups in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct mammographic imaging for various procedures following provided training.
- Provide necessary devices for immobilization, choose appropriate technical factors based on individual patient requirements, and operate equipment accordingly.
- Ensure accurate patient identification and image marking, complying with relevant guidelines.
- Assist in quality control procedures and documentations as delegated.
- Help with compiling statistics and follow-ups related to patient care.
- Document procedures in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Ensure proper use of equipment and maintain cleanliness.
- Deliver personalized care to meet the specific needs of the patient population served.
- Recognize and address equipment technical errors promptly.
- Perform additional duties as instructed by supervisory staff.
- Adhere to organizational competencies standards.
Qualifications Required for the Role:
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Meeting requirements for relevant certifications and licenses.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Diagnostic Radiography License.
- Registered Technologist Radiology & Mammography.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
