Job Summary and Qualifications

As a PPS Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the timely and accurate submission of patient information to Medicare in the form of the Inpatient Rehab Facility Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI). By ensuring accurate scoring of patients' functional status and care needs, this role has a major impact on both Medicare reimbursement and maximizing each patient's length of stay efficiency to get the best rehab care possible.

  • You will monitor benchmarks and documentation compliance for the inpatient rehab population via detailed reports in the Uniform Data Systems portal.
  • You will thoroughly research and review clinical documentation and make recommendations to clinical supervisors in areas needing improvement to support rehab quality metrics and documentation compliance.
  • You will assist in minor facilitation of interdisciplinary team conference meetings to ensure all members are present, patient goals are being met, and the meeting flows on time to each patient's case
What qualifications you will need:
  • Currently holds a clinical license in Colorado, either: Registered Nurse (RN), Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Speech Language Pathologist (SLP).
  • Graduation from an accredited school in the field of nursing, PT, OT, or SLP.
  • Prefer at least 2 years previous experience as a clinical lead or case manager in Inpatient Rehabilitation and a working knowledge of the IRF-PAI and/or issues of Medicare compliance in the rehab world
  • Possess good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to compile, evaluate and report data to members of the team.
  • Ability to assess detailed information via patient chart reviews and reports, and keep this information updated with a keen eye for accuracy
  • Must have strong analytical, leadership and organizational skills while also enjoy working closely to educate bedside caregivers: MDs, RNs, PT/OT/SLP, and Case Managers.
