Medical Biller & Collections Coordinator

WORK LOCATION: On-Site (Englewood, NJ)

DESCRIPTION: As a Medical Biller and Collections Coordinator, you play a key role in ensuring healthcare providers receive proper reimbursement for the services they deliver to patients. Your responsibilities include processing healthcare claims accurately and efficiently, coding medical procedures, inputting information into the billing system, and submitting claims to insurance companies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate and submit claims and statements at designated intervals, ensuring timely processing and correcting errors for accurate data transmission.
  • Monitor claim status, follow up with insurance companies to resolve discrepancies, and record payments received.
  • Assign medical codes to diagnoses and procedures using established systems, prepare and review claims for accuracy, and generate invoices.
  • Address patient inquiries, stay updated on healthcare regulations, and maintain organized billing records.
  • Track billing performance, process refunds, and prepare correspondence as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks such as payment recording, information faxing, and eligibility verification.
  • Follow assignments from management and handle various projects effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; prefer a degree or certification in medical billing or related field.
  • Must have experience with NJ Orthopedics collections.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding systems.
  • Proficiency in medical billing software and EHR systems, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
  • Understanding of healthcare billing regulations, compliance standards, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday (no weekends)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time (8 hour shifts)
