Foster Aviation & Mobile Maintenance is a fast-growing GA shop in Dublin, VA (about an hour past Roanoke) that serves southwestern Virginia and the surrounding areas. We provide mobile maintenance within the entire continental US and specialize in Twin Cessnas, Grumman, Lancair, and servicing many other makes and models. We are looking for an A&P/IA to join our team as we continue to grow and serve our flying friends.
Job Type: Full-time, on and off-site as necessary.
Salary: 40-60K hourly based on experience
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Determine airworthiness by inspecting repairs/alterations
Determine if major repairs/alterations are compatible
Personally inspect and sign off on aircraft to include annual inspections, inspections of work/repairs done in shop
Perform regular maintenance on aircraft
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to stay on budget and meet deadlines
Responsible for keeping the work area clean at all times
Responsible for accurately completing all required paperwork
Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the aircraft maintenance field
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Performs a variety of complex tasks
Keep accurate records of parts used and all work performed on assigned aircraft
Maintain adequate number and quality of tools necessary to perform assigned tasks
Understand and follow procedures from the aircraft manufacturer's maintenance manuals
Communicate with customers regarding aircraft issues/discrepancies
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned by the Supervisor
Prefer someone to have a pilot's certificate, but not required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong work ethic
Eye for detail and drive to go above and beyond to ensure quality of work

Be able to work with the customers and go over any issues/items in a professional manner

Must have an active, valid Driver's License.
Must be able to work full time (40 hrs a week), primarily regular weekday hours with occasional evenings.
Must be willing to work in an environment that is subject to changing climate conditions and moderate noise levels (hangar).
Must have problem-solving and organizational skills.
Must be able to read and understand Company and Manufacturer Manuals.
Ability to bend and/or squat repeatedly and stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to pass a drug screening and adhere to a workplace drug-free program
Credentials:
IA
A&P with Inspector Certificate (or eligibility for inspector cert)
3 years experience.
