JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking to hire an experienced English Instructor (AP Level Preferred) to provide instruction in literature, essay composition, vocabulary, creative writing, reading comprehension, and other core curriculum. The writing instructor's responsibilities will include collaborating with the Director of Curriculum Development to create lesson plans and curricula, as well as provide academic support to students in preparation for their AP Exams in the end of the year.

We are looking for a qualified English Instructor who can work between 15-25 hours a week.

As summer is approaching, we are looking for a English Instructor who can commit to working our summer sessions. Hours in the summer can range from anywhere between 9am-3pm Monday-Friday.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field from an accredited college or university (required)Master's degree in Education, English, or a related field from an accredited college or university (preferred)2 years experience as an English/Writing instructor or tutor (required)Successful track record of helping students with creative writing and preparing students for writing competitionsKnowledgeable with AP English content and testsProfessional communication skills (both spoken and written)Proven experience assisting students with essay reviewCompetent in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Able to work independently and collaborate with a teamEnthusiastic about working with students and parentsAble to maintain strict confidentialityHighly organized and detail-oriented (attention to detail and accuracy is imperative)Ability to meet schedules and deadlinesGood judgment and decision-making abilitiesGood problem-solving skillsGood planning skillsHighly responsiveHighly proactiveHighly reliableIntegrityJOB DUTIES:
Collaborate with the Director of Curriculum Development to develop lesson plans and curricula as neededPrepare students for AP English examAssess students' needs and provide extra support in any lacking areasProvide homework help as neededAble to lead a classroom of students effectively and work efficiently with studentsGood classroom management skillsTypical Time: 2pm - 8pm.
