The role of this position is to serve as a senior Marine Inspector and command representative for Sector Northern New England.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.

Typical work assignments include:

  • Marine Inspections: - Conducting all statutorily required marine inspection activities and act as a direct representative of the Officer in Charge.- Overseeing vessel construction.- Inspecting and approving structural repairs and associated proposals.
  • Command Representative:
  • Interfacing with senior officials in other Canadian, Federal, state and local agencies in the area at various operational and planning meetings and events.
  • Conducting random patrols to ensure public and environmental safety and security.
  • Maritime Security: - Making notifications and conducting prompt verifications of regulated vessel and facility security postures.
  • Marine Casualty Investigations: - Responding to marine casualty incidents to document the chain of events and conduct causal analysis through interviews, collection of evidence, collaboration of expert witnesses, etc.
  • Marine Environmental Protection: - Responding to pollution incidents to provide technical guidance and coordinate response with appropriate state agencies.
