DEPARTMENT: Athletics

REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics

FLSA: Exempt

TERM: 3 Months

POSITION PURPOSE:

Charlotte Country Day School, an independent coeducational day school located in Charlotte, NC, is currently recruiting for the following coaching positions: Junior Varsity Boys' Soccer Head Coach. The Junior Varsity team plays in the Fall Season (August – October). This is a part-time, seasonal position beginning Monday, July 29 th , 2024, and ending in late October. The daily work schedule will vary slightly according to specific team practice and competition schedules but will generally be focused on a 3-6pm time slot, Monday-Friday. Weekend work is occasionally required.

ESSENTIAL FUCTIONS:

  • Instruct players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and technique of the sport.
  • Plan and organize tryouts, practices, and games operations.
  • Assesses player's skills, monitors players during competitions and practice, keeps the Boys' Soccer Program Head informed of the athletics performance of student-athletes.
  • Organizes and directs individuals and small group practices/exercises.
  • Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury.
  • Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
  • Participates in special activities to include parent's night and end of season team gathering.
  • Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Boys' Soccer Program Head, Athletic Director, & Head of School or other appropriate administrator.
  • Supervision and instruction of student-athletes during all team activities.
  • Maintenance and inventory of team equipment and apparel.
  • Regular communication with team parents and athletics program staff regarding team activities.
  • Attendance at required team and interscholastic athletics program meetings.
  • Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes.
  • Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes.
  • Compliance with all Charlotte Country Day School, Charlotte Independent Schools Athletic Association, and North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association policies and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS:

    Successful candidates must be available for all practices and competitions during the coaching season. Experience coaching at some level is preferred, but not required. Additionally, candidates must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check and must possess or obtain prior to the start of their season current First Aid and CPR certification.
