How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Flight Safety SMS and Reporting Programs Co-Op responsibilities include providing support to the Flight Safety Safety Management System (SMS) along with the pilot safety reporting programs. The Co-Op will work directly with the safety teams, collaborating with our cross divisional partners in Corporate Safety and Flight Operations to support safety initiatives. This position will also partner with the Safety Assurance Team (SAT) within Flight Operations to analyze data derived from various safety reporting programs to track, trend, and resolve aviation hazards. Additionally, the Co-Op will assist with the processing of pilot safety reports and support Delta's Pilot Fatigue and Ops Risk Management programs.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree-seeking program.
  • At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale.
  • Must be available to work on a full-time basis as an undergraduate student during the following 3 alternating semesters: Spring 2025, Fall 2025, Summer 2026.
  • Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the Co-op.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work on multiple assignments with strict deadlines and function effectively under pressure.
  • Must be team oriented.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

1) The degree should include a specialization in aviation, flight experience, and a passion for safety,

2) P roficiency with MS Office applications, especially Excel, Project, Visio, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

3)A successful candidate should be highly motivated with the desire to learn and have a passion for safety
