JOB SUMMARY:

Primary responsibilities include assisting with month-end close, reconciling and analyzing financial statements, contributing to the preparation of financials, reporting, analyses and metrics. The Senior Accountant may also support other accounting areas as needed, including tax preparation and research, and will have the opportunity to get involved in special projects as they arise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:?

  • Obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Advises on accounting principles with respect to transactions and recommends revisions in accounting procedures to ensure conformance with applicable statues, laws and General Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Meet deadlines for month-end close cycles, including posting journal entries and completing various reconciliations.?
  • Prepare weekly prospective revenue and gross margin forecasts.
  • Analyze Balance Sheet and Income Statement Accounts.
  • Assist with routine reporting and financial statement preparation.
  • Recommend changes in methods or procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Generate and maintain Excel models/ spreadsheets, reconciliations or other reports as requested by management.
  • Assists Controller Manager with budgeting, cash flow analysis, audit work, compensation plans, contract review, or any other project as needed.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Accounting, Business)

Experience

5 years of hands-on accounting experience, within a service oriented industry ideally in the healthcare space.

Advanced proficiency NetSuite, MS Excel and MS Word required.

Certifications or Licenses

A Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation is encouraged but not required.

Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.? Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, oral and written. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, customers, vendors, etc. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Other: Strong problem solving skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task.? Must be detail orientation with organization and time management skills. Ability to articulate read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
