Legal - Risk Management Intern

Overview
The Risk Management-Legal Intern will work within the Risk Management department, reporting directly to the VP Risk Management who is responsible for protecting corporate assets through the identification, analysis, treatment, and administration of a global risk management framework. The RM Intern will observe and provide support in the areas of contract review, contract risk management, and claims litigation. The Risk Management-Legal Intern will further observe calls and communication with Corporate Legal Teams, Business Development, Venues and corporate insurance brokers and various other Legal Counsel and internal customers.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $20 to $25.00.

Responsibilities
Provide support for the review of contracts for insurance requirementsProvide support for reducing risk and cost in claims management and administrationUnder the guidance of the VP Risk Management, interact with internal customers to provide support and guidance in contract and legal matters Attend meetings with VP Risk Management, Claims Manager, and other members of management as needed throughout the course of the internship.Aid the VP Risk Management in project management activities related to risk management due diligence for new business, mergers and acquisitions.Create and update Standard Operating Procedure documents for ongoing or new procedures as needed.Qualifications
Open to COLLEGE juniors, seniors and grad students seeking an internship to gain experience in the field of HR or seeking to gain college credit.GPA of 2.5 or higherHousing/transportation are the student's responsibility.Highly developed verbal and written communications skills.Strong focus on detailProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) as well as database experience.Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented with ability to handle multiple assignments.Multilingual in Spanish a plusFlexible Hours / On-site Work EnvironmentSpecial Characteristics / Knowledge:Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational ability. Ability to maintain highly confidential information is required.Pro-active approach to accomplishing tasks.Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications, accounting systems software and internet applicationsSelf-Starter and effective problem solver.Communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing
