What is the opportunity?

The Mutual Funds product team serves as a primary platform support for U.S. registered mutual funds across the RBC Wealth Management distribution channel. As a Product Associate, you will assist in the development, support, growth, and risk management of RBC Wealth Management's mutual fund platforms. You will help drive strategic initiatives and support vendor relationships.

What will you do?

  • Support the Mutual Funds Product Manager on projects required to ensure compliance with regulators, competitiveness and advisor satisfaction in conjunction with various departments including Legal, Compliance, AML, Operations and senior managers.
  • Serve as liaison between advisors and internal departments to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mutual funds.
  • Negotiate and execute the terms of vendor contracts, including platform reimbursements and additional compensation payments.
  • Facilitate operational setup procedures when onboarding new funds or fund families, including considerations based on RBC policies, dealer agreements, and operational requirements.
  • Assist with routine and ad-hoc administrative activities, including security setup, information collection, prospectus monitoring, and billing.
  • Identify appropriate solutions to product and business challenges, and manage the implementation of enhancements to existing programs.
  • Educate advisors on Mutual Fund policy, industry and regulatory issues in relation to mutual funds.
  • Project management responsibility for assigned mutual fund initiatives, such as platform growth, promoting mutual fund products and providing education through firm initiatives.

​What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Undergraduate degree (BA/BS) with preferred concentration in business, economics, finance, or marketing; Or high school diploma and 5+ years job-related experience
  • Basic knowledge of financial markets, the investment industry and mutual funds
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel Spreadsheets with the ability to adapt to changing technology
  • Self-directed, organized, ability to work as a team, strong communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to have:

  • Series 7 and 66 (or 63/65)
