The VA San Diego Healthcare System is seeking an experienced Sleep Medicine Physician to serve as the Sleep Medicine Section Chief at the Jennifer Moreno Medical Center in La Jolla, CA.
We are looking for a board-certified physician in Sleep Medicine with primary training in Internal Medicine or Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine.
Candidates must have 5 years of experience in Sleep Medicine and a strong commitment to direct patient care and teaching of students, residents, and fellows.
The candidate must have or obtain a current, unrestricted Medical License from any state or territory and be eligible for a Federal Appointment.
This full-time supervisory position focuses on Sleep Medicine Program management, patient care, interpretation of sleep recordings, and the supervision of staff physicians, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, sleep technicians, and clinical teaching.
Opportunities for scholarly activities include collaboration with funded investigators, publication of original clinical research, presentation of lectures, or development of curricular or teaching materials.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am - 4:30pm, excluding Federal Government holidays. A compressed schedule is available.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Unrestricted U.S. Medical License.
- Successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited fellowship in Sleep Medicine.
- 5 years of postfellowship experience in Sleep Medicine.
- Board Certification in Sleep Medicine.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Supervisory experience.
- Post Graduate training experience.
- Research experience.
- Sleep Lab development experience.
- Sleep Medicine fellowship program development experience.
Salary:
$315K-$370K
