The Democratic National Committee seeks content managers who are experienced in thinking outside the box, creatively inclined, and have a knack for customizing social media content relevant for specific audiences and identities. This role will have a regional focus on non-battleground and "export" states to help re-elect President Biden and elect Democrats up and down the ballot. This individual will work closely with our in-house Organizing and Content & Creative teams to reach voters with engaging content and tested, proven messaging. Regional Content Strategists will report to the Distributed Content Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Distributed Content Director, states teams, and regional volunteers to localize and tailor national content to states and constituencies within your assigned regions.
  • Monitor regional news, state press lists, and follow leading and trusted voices on social media in the region to aid regional content planning and rapid response.
  • Conduct extensive research and templatize content to be produced at scale for localizing impact
  • Analyze feedback from regional volunteers to ensure that the content produced meets the needs of the volunteers - this may include combatting local disinformation.
  • Optimize content based on performance data and content feedback.
  • Plan and calendar content on Reach for target constituencies and regions.
  • Own content production in Reach grassroots galleries and when needed assist in establishing and cultivating content in Reach state campaigns.
  • Adapt national messaging and talking points for different audiences, platforms, and localities.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC's mission.

About you (Qualifications):

  • At least 1 cycle of campaign experience, preferably in a distributed organizing or social media content strategy role;
  • Well-developed sense of the kind of content people want to share;
  • Experience creating content for a variety of platforms.

The starting salary for the Regional Content Manager position is $72,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is not eligible for overtime wages, and is a supervisory position based at the DNC HQ in Washington, D.C.

This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends, and has an end date of November 15, 2024.
