The Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.

The purpose of this position is:

  • Perform equipment maintenance, repair and improvement in support of efficient manufacturing operations

This position includes significant duties such as:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a variety of production and service equipment and instrumentation
  • Cognizant of all the unique production equipment and operational functions and services
  • Plans, schedules, performs, and maintains appropriate records of preventative maintenance for all equipment
  • Interacts with production personnel appropriately for all repair necessities and preventative maintenance for all equipment

  • Schedules and conducts utilities and equipment support services preventative maintenance
  • Keeps appropriate records and support documentation of equipment repair and parts change history

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to dust, dirt, equipment oil, grease, operating materials

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Technical electronic maintenance / Trade Schooling
  • Mechanical maintenance in manufacturing
  • Similar manufacturing equipment familiarity

The range for this position is ​$24.50 hourly rate - $28.75 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
