We are seeking an ambitious post-doctoral scientist with strong research and communication skills to contribute to high visibility research projects. Your work will help drive our mechanistic understanding of how metabolites, driven by inflammation, can be powerful checkpoints that drive the resolution of disease. Our multi-disciplinary group is working to both support the clinical development of a therapeutic itaconate mimetic and the development several drug discovery programs focused on immunometabolism. In this role, you will design, implement, and interpret experiments in a collaborative environment to:

Drive our understanding of how metabolites regulate the immune system.Evaluate current drug candidates for their impact on signaling pathways such as IRAK4, TYK2, and others that regulate inflammation.Expand our currently knowledge about how endogenously produced itaconate regulates innate-driven inflammation to inform our current clinical program.Work within a larger cross-functional group of scientists focused on driving both metabolomic and proteomic approaches to better understand metabolic pathways that regulate immunity.Contribute to target validation of new clinically tractable targets.Present findings at conferences and publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals.Identify areas of key need across clinical development and champion creative solutions to address those needs. Maintain external awareness and learning to benefit the organization.Present findings at conferences and publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals.Basic Qualifications PhD in immunology, biochemistry, cell biology, or related fields. Additional Skills/Preferences If you are described with these skills, you could be a great fit for the role: Skilled in innate and cell-mediated immunity preferred but not required. Alternatively, expertise in metabolomics or proteomics with a strong desire to apply these talents to immunological problems would be strongly considered.Self-directed and highly motivated individual who wants to learn new techniques while continually pursuing research and publication goals.Excellent communicator (oral and written) with presentation experience, along with a strong publication record.Experienced with flow cytometric analysis of immune cell subtypes.Experienced with LC-MS techniques to monitor metabolites and metabolic flux.Experienced with LC-MS techniques to monitor protein post-translation modification.The absence of any of these preferred skills can be mitigated by a strong desire to learn in collaborative fashion within a diverse and supportive group of scientists with a singular focus of bring groundbreaking therapeutics to patients in need.Additional Information This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend to 3 years. You will have opportunities to apply for full time positions after your duration is complete.
