Job Opening: Post-Doctoral Researcher - Nanoparticle Formulations

Delivery, Device, and Connected Solutions (DDCS) is a dynamic team within the Molecular Innovation Hub (MIH) at Eli Lilly and Company, consisting of chemists, material scientists, and engineers focused on enhancing the biologics portfolio. As part of DDCS, the Drug Delivery and New Product Innovation (DDNPI) team is spearheading the discovery of novel nanoparticle-based solutions for nucleic acid delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Leverage expertise in chemistry, materials engineering, and nucleic acid delivery to create responsive nanoparticles for targeted subcellular delivery.
  • Utilize innovative approaches for nano-delivery strategies, including ligand design and bioconjugation methods.
  • Apply immune cell biology knowledge to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.
  • Design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and contribute to hypothesis-driven research.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team and independently drive research initiatives.
  • Deliver impactful presentations, prepare manuscripts, and engage in scientific discourse.
  • Embrace continuous learning and embrace new technologies to support research endeavors.
Basic Requirements:
  • PhD in Materials Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in material design, nanoparticle characterization, nucleic acid delivery, and bioconjugation.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
  • Understanding of immune cell biology and bio-responsive materials engineering.
  • Experience in nanoparticle formulation, optimization, and characterization in biological settings.
  • Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and related assays.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for learning and collaborating across disciplines.
  • Strong communication and publication skills in scientific journals.
