Job Summary/Basic Function

The Strategic Initiatives & Employee Engagement Manager is responsible for facilitating the planning, coordinating, and execution of campus-serving human resource (HR) initiatives that align with our overall HR mission of improving the employee experience.

This well-rounded leader will navigate large-scale HR plans and projects and effectively collaborate with other areas of campus to implement them.

This individual will be required to build positive relationships across campus and work well with employees of all backgrounds and from all areas of the institution.

Interactions will range from collaborating with leaders to the coaching and training of employees at all levels.

Expected areas of involvement will include employee training initiatives, coordinating and collaborating on HR-sponsored campus events, coordinating effective campus-wide communication for HR-specific projects, and working with various levels of campus leadership to address large-scale employee needs.

This position will be responsible for creatively engaging campus employees through the various initiatives listed above.

It is expected that this individual will make effective connections across campus in order to help facilitate both short- and long-term HR projects and initiatives.

This will require skills in both program development and project management, as this individual will lead out on HR projects of various sizes that impact and serve the campus community.


This position will oversee the Office of Workplace Learning, the Search Advocate program, and will aid in continuing to positively develop and grow the impact of both across campus.

This will include the need to be involved in all levels of these programs, including performing training, engaging with search committees, and performing other duties alongside the individuals who will be supervised.

This position will report directly to the AVP for Human Resources.
Required Qualifications

Required:
Bachelor's degree
Four years related experience that includes coaching, training, project management, or program development
Preferred Qualifications

Preferred:
High proficiency in both written and verbal communication
Dynamic leader and teammate who can motivate others
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, leadership, and various areas at all levels of the institution
