What will I do in this position if hired?

In this position, you will ensure the readiness of a workforce of roughly 700 employees

Typical assignments include:


Overseeing the development of readiness exercise documents, administrative training curriculum, programmatic training curriculum, the daily forecasting of staff requirements for multiple federally declared disaster declarations annually.

Scheduling of a staff between 700 to 10,000 employees across up to 50 operating sites, nationally, and the adjustment of that staff to ensure multiple pre-designated operational metrics are met that positively affect the service provided to disaster survivors nationwide.

Overseeing multiple reports that outline the functioning of each active operating center and providing reports to other interested parties (Congress, FEMA HQ Senior Leaders, Regional Administrators and Federal Coordinating Officers).

Developing and reviewing policy, procedure and business rules required to support the National Emergency Management Information System (NEMIS) database.

Setting multi-year priorities, as well as quarterly and annual performance goals.

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
