About Our Client

My client is a leading manufacturer of cosmetic and personal care products in the Thousand Oaks area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality control and management, with experience in the cosmetic industry.

Job Description

  1. Leadership and Management:
  2. Supervise and lead the quality control laboratory team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  3. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  4. Ensure the laboratory is adequately staffed, equipped, and operates efficiently.
  5. Quality Control and Assurance:
  6. Develop, implement, and maintain quality control protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  7. Oversee routine testing and inspection of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet established quality standards.
  8. Investigate and resolve any quality issues, deviations, or non-conformances, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  9. Regulatory Compliance:
  10. Ensure all laboratory activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
  11. Prepare for and participate in regulatory and customer audits and inspections.
  12. Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation and records of all quality control activities.
  13. Continuous Improvement:
  14. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  15. Stay current with industry trends, advancements in technology, and regulatory changes.
  16. Collaboration and Communication:
  17. Collaborate with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless integration of quality control processes.
  18. Communicate quality control results, issues, and recommendations to senior management and relevant stakeholders.

    The Successful Applicant

  19. Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial position, preferably in the cosmetics or personal care industry.In-depth knowledge of quality control methodologies, laboratory testing techniques, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, GMP).Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other relevant software.
