Position Overview

Core duties include Maintaining and Managing up-to-date lab inventory,

Compounding Flavors, Operating Spray Drier, Fulfillment of Sample request, general lab work and maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely handling Aroma Chemicals
  • Maintaining and managing up-to-date lab inventory
  • Ordering materials as needed
  • Repacking Materials
  • Preparing and fulfilling internal and external sample requests
  • Shipping Samples
  • Setting up Sensory evaluation panels
  • Accurately Compounding Flavors
  • Running Spray Drier
  • Assisting and Maintaining sanitation and lab organization
  • Keeping accurate lab records and data
  • Other tasks as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of twelve (12) college credits/CEUs preferably in Chemistry / Biology OR in lieu of college credits, 2 years in Food manufacturing environment or lab and knowledge of food safety
  • Proven ability to safely handle and work with aroma chemicals
  • Proven ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment at all times
  • Able to work at a lab bench for 8 hrs
  • Proven ability to follow instructions
  • Solid math skills including the ability to work accurately with formulas, ratios, percentages, parts per million and decimals
  • Must possess strong teamwork capabilities
  • Ability to work in a challenging and fast paced environment with constantly changing priorities
  • PC skills required - Experience operating in a Windows environment, managing files and handling data.
  • Professional communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.
  • Ability to take instruction / direction from multiple groups
  • Ability to be self-directed and motivated.
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds continuously, 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
