The Financial Controller - Construction will be a key part of the Leadership team for a Well-Established General Contracting Construction Company based in the Bergen County, NJ. The role will oversee the Accounting team and be a key Finance Business Partner to Divisional Heads in Operations. Job Description
Construction Project Accounting and Reporting:
Oversee and manage all aspects of construction project accounting.Prepare and analyze project financial reports.Ensure accurate and timely recording of project costs, revenues, and profitability.Monitor project budgets and forecasts.Procore Invoicing, Project Collections, and Communications:Manage invoicing through Procore software.Ensure timely and accurate billing to clients.Oversee project collections and resolve any billing issues.Maintain effective communication with project managers and clients regarding financial matters.
Effective Communication with Project Team Members:Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and other team members to ensure financial transparency.Provide financial insights and support for project decision-making.
Responsible for the Accounting Team including A/P and A/R Functions:Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.Act as a backup for A/P and A/R functions when necessary.
Monthly Accounting FunctionsPerform month-end and year-end close processes.Prepare monthly financial statements and reports.Assist with annual audits and tax preparations.Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
