Job Description
The Assistant Dean of Judicial Affairs and Title IX Coordinator is a professional staff member of the Office of Student Affairs and is responsible for the overall oversight, education, and adjudication of Title IX cases on campus. In addition, the Assistant Dean of Judicial Affairs and Title IX Coordinator will assist in the oversight of judicial affairs on campus. They should be committed to increasing student engagement and carrying out the mission of the Division of Student Affairs. This is a live off position that includes some hybrid work structure, and is highly administrative.

Qualifications- Assistant Dean of Judicial Affairs and Title IX Coordinator
Master's Degree required.
Subject matter expert in diversity and inclusion. Minimum of 4+ years of experience in a higher education setting.
Experience working in Title IX positions preferred.
Proven track record of collaborating across various departments and levels within a complex organization as well as with community partners.
Evidence of leading projects and/or events to successful completion with measured outcomes.
Thorough understanding of Title IX laws and regulations as well as protected classes as described by federal law.
Skills and background in handling training and education, organizing events, maintaining records, and communicating at all levels of the organization (including oral, written, and proofreading documents).
Demonstrated project management experience is desired.
Responsibilities- Assistant Dean of Judicial Affairs and Title IX Coordinator
Engage in professional development activities to ensure knowledge of high impact practices and current landscape for Title IX
Accountable for ensuring that affirmative action, equal opportunity, and diversity are integrally tied to all actions and decisions in areas of responsibility.
Responsible for building a robust, engaging prevention program as it relates to community standards, Title IX regulations, and university policies
Responsible for reporting knowledge or receipt of discrimination, discriminatory harassment, and retaliation from students or other members of the university community to the Equal Opportunity Officer or Title IX Coordinator.
Oversees the Title IX investigation and adjudication processes for reports and/or cases involving students
Understands and implements Title IX trainings for campus partners to ensure knowledge of processes
Facilitates an awareness and sensitivity in celebration of cultural diversity
Lead/co-chair Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT)
Assists in the adjudication of instances of university violations in conjunction with the Associate Dean of Judicial Affairs and Residence Life and/or the Dean of Students
Provides crisis intervention as situations arise. Utilizes on-campus resources to make appropriate referrals to students who need and/or require assistance
Serves on a secondary rotation of on-call and/or emergency contact person for on-campus or off-campus students issues as they arise.
Participation in departmental and/or university committees with varying focuses such as academics, judicial affairs, campus safety, and training
Establish a departmental and student culture where diversity, inclusion, and belonging are encouraged and where staff and students learn to respect differences, take responsibility for their actions, and exercise leadership
