In this highly visible and impactful role, you will provide risk expertise and guidance to the enterprise and our Marketing and Communications teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide risk guidance, oversight, and assurance services to enterprise and divisional partners based on the Vanguard's operational and strategic risk framework. Ensure the development and implementation of effective divisional risk controls.
  • Lead and manage the efficiency and effectiveness of risk management within the business. Set measurable goals and examine ways to raise standards, to increase quality and to improve overall risk management efforts of the team. Measure departmental success in identifying and managing risk exposure, and identify and prioritize existing and emerging risks and advise on appropriate control design and testing.
  • Lead and assist the business in the development, implementation and management of long-term risk management strategies in accordance with department goals and objectives, standard risk management policies and procedures, and the overall risk strategy.
  • Work with the business to mitigate risks and optimize process efficiency. Use expert industry best practice knowledge to design effective controls, and make recommendations for developing new risk management strategies for the business. Provide consultation, facilitation and analytical support to the divisional management team as new products, services, processes and procedures are developed to ensure risk is properly mitigated.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with enterprise and divisional clients to understand their ongoing risk needs. Act as a thought partner to the business.
  • Assess the design of existing controls and make recommendations, leverage industry best practice for improvement as needed. Understand the risk management framework and utilize the core concepts when discussing risk exposures with the business.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

What it takes:

  • Minimum of eight years related work experience.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred
  • Working knowledge of marketing required
