Position Specific Description
Position Overview: The Associate Wind Technician is an entry-level role within the NextEra Energy team responsible for assisting with the operation and maintenance activities of wind turbines at various wind farms. As an Associate Wind Technician, you will work closely with experienced technicians and engineers to gain hands-on experience and develop the essential skills needed to progress in the field. This position offers an excellent opportunity to kickstart your career in the renewable energy industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist senior technicians and engineers in performing routine inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks on wind turbines, including the mechanical, electrical, and control systems.Collaborate with the team to identify and troubleshoot turbine issues and malfunctions to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.Participate in scheduled preventive maintenance activities, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and bolt torque checks.Conduct basic tests and measurements using various tools and equipment to assess turbine components and system performance.Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to create a safe working environment and minimize risks associated with turbine operations and maintenance.Document all maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and observations made, for record-keeping and future reference.Assist in maintaining inventory levels and acquiring necessary equipment, tools, and spare parts.Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, suggesting ideas to enhance operational efficiency and optimize turbine performance.Stay updated with industry best practices, technical advancements, and safety regulations related to wind turbine maintenance.
Job Overview
Employees in this job perform regular preventative maintenance and repair on wind turbines. The successful candidate's primary function will be changing GBX oil on wind turbines.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Under direct supervision:
Performs regular preventative maintenance and repair on wind turbine power generation equipment Completes electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting Maintains all company supplied equipment, facilities, and tooling Applies basic understanding of the technical and process functions Manages own training schedules and meets the training requirements of the position Ability to meet attendance requirements Performs other job-related duties as assigned

High School Grad / GEDExperience: 0+ yearsValid Driver's License (NON CDL)Post-Offer Functional Capacity Evaluation
