Job SummaryThis position will be a temporary posting as our 6th and 7th-grade Math Teacher. You will be responsible for teaching 4 sections of Mathematics in our STEM Department. All teachers at Dunn work closely with their peers in a collaborative, cooperative, college-preparatory academic environment. The middle school faculty work particularly closely in the collaborative delivery of our middle school curriculum. You will also be involved in our opening week camping trip.At Dunn School, teacher effectiveness and impact are measured and aligned to the Dunn School Characteristics of Professional Excellence (follow this link for more detail), The CPEs describe an educator who is committed to the following: Professional Growth, Collegiality/Community, Mission and Core Values, Student-Centered, Academic Excellence, Individualized Instruction.Roles and Responsibilities
  • Teach 2 sections of 6th grade Math
  • Teach 2 sections of 7th grade Math
  • Teach 2 Enrichment classes
  • If on-campus housing is provided, there will be a requirement of residential duty in the dormitories
  • If on-campus housing is provided, there will be a requirement of weekend duty
  • Other duties and roles to be determined
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following professional skills and characteristics
  • Math teaching experience (certification is not required) in a middle school educational environment
  • Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the Dunn School faculty
  • Good writing skills
  • Academic computer literacy
  • A desire to learn and grow professionally
