Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Director of Financial Assistance for the School of Law at the prestigious University of Miami School of Law. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs to support our law students, ensuring they receive timely and efficient assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide financial aid support to all law students, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Analyze financial aid applications to determine accurate eligibility and award packages.
  • Communicate changes in eligibility and alternative options to students promptly.
  • Adjust financial aid packages based on enrollment changes, budget adjustments, and aid modifications.
  • Resolve individual student aid issues and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Administer scholarships, ensuring correct allocation and compliance with guidelines.
  • Process returns and disbursements in accordance with regulations.
  • Manage external scholarships and grants effectively.
  • Participate in financial aid outreach activities and provide debt counseling to students.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and uphold University values.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant Financial Aid experience

  • Handle confidential information with discretion
  • Work independently as well as in a team
  • Proficient in financial aid management systems and Microsoft Office applications
