The Patient Access Representative is responsible for accurate collection of registration data for clinical care and reimbursement purposes. This individual verifies insurance coverage, gathers patient demographic information, obtains required forms and performs cash collection.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred/Optional: Successful completion of a vocational technical health unit coordinator, medical office specialist, medical secretary program or related field. Successful completion of a medical terminology course.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum Experience Required: Demonstrated proficiency utilizing a computer, telephone to include written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred/Optional Experience: Knowledge of medical insurance and one year experience in a healthcare facility including direct patient contact and customer service.
